Coastal and Ocean Planning, Policy and Outreach

This page highlights some of my recent projects and publications but in no case can I take full credit for these projects' success. In all cases, this work involved working closely with teams of talented professionals on projects supported by a range of different funders. See individual project websites for full acknowledgements. 

 

University of Rhode Island Coastal Resources Center and
Rhode Island Sea Grant College Program

Select projects:

Ongoing: Principal co-author of the Rhode Island Shoreline Change Special Area Management Plan, which is preparing RI coastal communities for the effects of storm surge, coastal erosion and sea level rise.

 

2014-2016: Co-led an applied research, outreach and training initiative to Strengthen the Coastal and Ocean Practitioner Network of marine spatial planning professionals.

 

2008-2011: Principal co-author and stakeholder facilitator of the Rhode Island Ocean Special Area Management Plan, the nation's first marine spatial plan which led to the siting and permitting of the Block Island Wind Farm.
